I grew up around cattails in K...Love them cattails! I grew up around cattails in Kansas, and for a kid they offer hours of endless pleasure when you make these great thwapping sounds by breaking one off, soaking it in the creek and smacking it against a flat rock... maybe, it's a boy thing... but man, I miss those cattails. Washington has some cattails just not the good, thick, thwapping kind... or maybe I outgrew thwapping.
